![]() ![]() So you have today's Prague on street level, and then skyscrapers sort of attached on top, so the higher up you get, the more of a bland sort of high tech metropolis you get. ![]() One area was built on top of what in today's world is Prague. We got to see some of the design choices for Europolis as well. The music will be composed by Simon Poole, which composed the music for Dreamfall, and for The Secret World as well. Some times the choices have small impacts, other times quite big impacts, and we won't always know which choices will have what impact before we see the consequences down the road. Your choices will also impact how the story plays out, from what I'm told. Seems like there'll be more dialogue, and the ability to walk more freely on your own, checking out the game world, looking for books you can bring back to the library in Marcuria and read, books that elucidate a lot of the game world. They aim to get back some of the magic from The Longest Journey. I was at Journeycon last month, meeting the devs, watching some gameplay, listening to them talk about the project, and there was a Q&A session.ĭreamfall: Chapters is most definitely going to give back a lot of the stuff that felt missing from the first Dreamfall. It is why I have tended to recommend people play Dreamfall before The Longest Journey, if they want to play Dreamfall at all. I can see how, without a sense of mystery, it wouldn't hold as much sway. So, the way I played it, the story and the ending were both perfect. God damnit, I want a completion to the story. It was similar to how Dante describes Empire in Clerks, it ended on the ultimate down note. When I actually got down to beating the game, I didn't find the end a let down, so much as devastating. And then, in a cutscene, I'm playing as April, and she's in a completely different world. I truly had no idea what the hell was going on. This created a beautiful sense of mystery to me as the player. I didn't know about the balance, about any of that stuff. Save April", I had no idea who April was or what the heck was going on. So, starting with the Undreaming, and the first 5 chapters of the creepy little girl saying "Find April. I didn't play The Longest Journey, or even know about it when I first played Dreamfall.
